Post WANTED CAMPAG REAR WHEEL
Hello all, a friend of mine is about to buy a bike that has full campag apart from the wheels whaich are shimano, and so obviously they aint going to shift right. Does anybody have a second hand rear wheel, pref with cassette and also pref cheap?

Thanks and please.

Hey dude
I have run Campag record on my Cannondale for 4 years with a dura-ace cassette from the original set-up. Shifts fine no probs even on max power like climbing in HC comps. Also I have run my 'big' cassette also a dura ace the last few weeks during the HC season and by rights you shouldn't be able to put a 27t cassette on with a record rear mech??? Again no probs ????

Just to max it up to a new level of uncompatibility FSA chainset and KMC chain. Laughing Laughing Laughing

Tell him to give it a go first.
Mark G said it wouldn't work and followed me as I shifted up & down - perfect every time. Wink

Good point.
Cyclo X bike - Truvativ chainset, Sram chain, Shimano sprockets.

Post conversion
Yes a shimano cassette will work with campagnolo gears but it will not work as smooth if you had the campag cassette. I use a SRAM cassette with my camag but it is ok but not as slick as the proper cassette. If you do want better shifting without the expense of new wheels you can convert the wheels for better shifting:

1. get a new campag freehub body fitted if the wheel manufacturer does a replacement such as mavic.

2. Look at a shift mate - http://jtekengineering.com/shiftmate.htm I have never tried one but someone recommended them to me.

Mark
